Arrest after car stolen

A man has been arrested on suspicion of vehicle crime after a car was stolen in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

We were called at 9.10pm yesterday (Tuesday 23 June) to Ramsey Road, in the Cross Heath area, following reports of theft.

A blue Seat Arona had been parked in the street and reported stolen.

Officers carried out a search and the car was found in the Pool Side area a short time later.

We arranged recovery of the vehicle.

A 22-year-old man, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been arrested on suspicion of car theft.

He remains in custody while inquiries continue.
